Le Pavillon des canards (2006)
Slideshow

The walls of a pseudo-karaoke room are lined with paper-cutouts, deer antlers, and embroidered rice-bags to reflect the iconography of an imaginary China. Images are inspired by take-out menus, chioiserie, railway posters, racist political cartoons, and export chinaware. Music videos of a few Western golden oldies sung in Chinese, are set to images of birds, animals, dancing, and various landscapes. Viewers are invited to sing-along and to play cards at the mah-jong tables.
